Biography

London based photographer and designer, Marina Papaspirou was born in Athens, Greece 1976.

She moved to London to study at London College of Communication in 1994 and has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic and Media design.

In 1999 she exhibited Emulsion Ruins, a series of hand-coated vintage landscape prints documenting the ancient city of Nafplion, the first capital of Greece, at Nafplion Art Gallery.

Between 1999-2003 she worked as a designer for leading brands such as Hays, Yellow Pages and CNET(Silicon).

In 2002, she founded Marina Rose design studio and has helped several SME businesses, start-ups and individuals to achieve their objectives of developing their brand.

Since 2005, she has regularly been commissioned to create works for book publishers Penguin, Puffin and Hodder. Her work has appeared on book covers and advertising campaigns.

Initial photographic collections concentrated on landscapes from her native Greece and extensive world travels – evocative, haunting images of still waters and silent cityscapes. However, it was the fusing of her passion for design and colour that transformed her detailed floral studies into the strong, abstract images of the FloraFusion Collection.
